Group Leader Commitment Form

Thank you so much for choosing to create community at Project Church. We truly believe that people will experience life-change through Jesus because of YOUR group.

Our goal as leadership is to equip you, encourage you, support you and ultimately set you up for success.

The purpose of groups is to simply make life-giving friendships.

The purpose of this form is to clarify expectations. By submitting this you are committing to fulfill these expectations to the best of your ability for this upcoming session which starts beginning of February and ends the beginning of April.

Group Leader Expectations

I understand that I am committing to serving at Project Church and will allow God to work through me so that more people can find life and freedom in Jesus. I recognize that being a group leader of Project Church means being an example and a leader to others.

I commit to the best ability to...

+ Maintain God-ordained priorities in my life putting Jesus first, my spouse second, my children third, and ministry fourth.
+ Be aware of the seasons of grace over areas in my life operating out of the fullness of His grace.
+ Be loyal to the vision of Project Church and always protect the unity of the church.
+ Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and come to Project Church.

We have created these with two goals in mind: 1. EQUIPPING YOU AS A LEADER You'll hear encouragement, training and vision. You'll engage in practical discussion and powerful moments of prayer. 2. BUILDING COMMUNITY Group leaders need community too. We are a team and often it's easy to feel disconnected. You'll find attending these are encouraging to connect with other group leaders that can celebrate victories and help and relate to challenges. Sisterhood and Brotherhood Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month. INITIAL BELOW

We always treat it like a big deal that someone took a step out and clicked the button to join a group. That’s huge!! We are regularly asking our people to sign up for a group. So the last thing we want to do is not respond to them. (AKA ghost 'em ) On the flip side, we want to welcome them warmly and promptly.

As a group leader, you’re expected to respond to a request within 24 hours so that people signing up feel valued. This will create a much better connection when they show up to your group. The great thing is this only takes about a minute to do. You will always receive an email when someone signs up notifying you. Simply follow the instruction on the email or just log in to the group admin page at groups.planningcenteronline.com and you’ll see the request.


A helpful tip is to have a ready-to-go template welcome email and then copy and paste it every time you get a request. There's a sample one at projectchurch.com/groupleader. You can also empower other people in your group to help with this.

Lastly, if you are having any trouble with this please let us know! We'd be glad to walk you through it.

Planning Center Online (PCO) is an incredibly helpful tool for group leaders. Essentially this is the software that you will use to manage your group from. We use this as our church management software so that it syncs to all other platforms of our church.

Check all the tasks that you're comfortable doing. Keep in mind there's instructions on all these at projectchurch.com/groupleader
